Hiking tips
The Grövelsjö Mountains and the surrounding hiking areas, such as Femundsmarka and Rogen, are known for their inviting hikes on both marked and unmarked trails. The Grövelsjön area is particularly popular due to its accessibility and the availability of accommodation and food. Easy hiking trails
Digerbäcken – Easy
Type of trail: Easy hike, mostly over open mountain terrain, with views of Grövelsjön.
Length: About 5 km
Don’t miss: Beautiful brook ravine with babbling water
Description:
At the service building, at the bottom of Sjöstugan’s parking lot, turn left towards the suspension bridge over Grövlan. Then follow the Linné Trail towards Sylen. After about 400 meters, turn right at the wooden bench and follow the path towards Digerbäcken. Then walk along the babbling brook until the path rejoins the Linné Trail. Turn left and follow the Linné Trail back to the start.

Sylen – Easy
Type of trail: Boat trip across Grövelsjön. Then an easy hike, which can be rocky in parts, up and down Sylen.
Length/ ascent: About 9 km/ 300 m
Don’t miss: The wreck of a German bomber from World War II that can be seen during the boat trip.
Description:
Boat from Sjöstugan. From the dock at Sylen, follow the gravel road to the sign towards Grövelsjön. Then follow the red-marked trail. A short, partly steep and rocky section, then an easy hike. Once you pass the tree line, you get a fantastic view of the valley and the outlet of Grövelsjön. The last part follows the Linné Trail back to Sjöstugan.

Medium to difficult hiking trails
Båthusberget – Medium/difficult
Type of trail: Hiking with significant ascent in hilly terrain.
Length: About 8,5 km
Don’t miss: Beautiful nature and outstanding views of Norwegian mountains and lakes.
Description:
About 20 km by car towards Elgå. Park the car in the parking lot on the left side of the road. Follow the path between two tarns. After the stream, take the path to the right, which initially has a steep ascent. At the top, follow the edge eastward until you meet the path again. Follow the path downhill and back to the parking lot.
